Online Solutions Pty Ltd (GPSS) is a wholly owned subsidiary company
of Industrea Ltd (IDL) with a successful track record in the implementation of Asset
Location and Driver Performance Monitoring Systems for the Mining
and Transport industries in Australia and overseas.
Industrea Limited (IDL) is a publicly listed Australian company
(ASX:IDL) that is headquartered in Queensland, Australia. IDL
comprises of a group of companies primarily involved in the provision
of mining products & services, with diversified revenue streams
arising from asset management and engineering services.
GPSS has its origins in 1987 as a technology company focused on
the emerging market for GPS-enabled solutions in industry and
defence. The company entered a period of strong growth and by
1999 was able to list on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) as
GPS Online Ltd. GPS Online developed a strong market presence
as a developer and supplier of location-based asset management
solutions including telematics, waste tracking, vehicle health
and usage monitoring for defence vehicle (vHUMS) and mobile wireless
communications. GPS Online including its subsidiary companies,
successfully developed and introduced a range of customized GPS-enabled
solutions for the mining, transport, marine, government and defence
sectors.
In September 2006, GPS Online Limited changed its name to the
present Industrea Limited to better reflect the diverse range
of mining services activities of the group. All GPS-related activities
of the company have since been transferred into the wholly owned
subsidiary GPS Online Solutions Pty Ltd.
The major product offered by GPSS is the ATOM® hardware and ATOM®Net
software for Asset Monitoring and Driver Performance Monitoring
and is aimed specifically for the requirements of the Mining and
Transport industries. A unique feature of the system is the inbuilt
capability of identifying and measuring certain aspects of driver
behavior that are indicators of inappropriate driving habit or
technique, or the onset of driver fatigue. The system incorporates
facilities for tracking movement of vehicles (through GPS) and
communication of data back to a central server via radio, WLAN,
GPRS or satellite.
